Welcome to Manchester United. How does it feel to be here and to be signing for this club?
Thanks very much. I'm very happy as this is a big step forward in my career and it's amazing to be joining the biggest club in the world.

What do you know about the club, the history, the players?
I know a lot about the club because I always follow the Premier League and Manchester United were always my team because they were the biggest and the best. Juan Sebastian Veron played for United and was a great player and I always watched his progress. United were always my club.

There has been a lot of talk and speculation about the move. How have the last few days been for you?
It's taken a while for everything to get sorted out because these transfers can be very difficult, but I'm so happy to be here at Manchester United.

How did you feel when you heard for the first time that Louis van Gaal wanted to sign you?
It was unbelievable. We played against his team in the World Cup and they were excellent. When I heard that he wanted me to come here I was very happy but also very proud and very excited to get an opportunity at a club like this.

What do you think your best qualities are as a footballer?
I always give everything I have in a game and I leave everything out there on the pitch. I play each game as if it could be my last. That's the most important thing in my philosophy.

What do you think you can achieve here, with the team and also on a personal level?
I think the most important thing is that I keep growing as a player and keep improving. I have worked really hard for this opportunity and now I am at the biggest club in the world and I want to win trophies.

Finally, there are a lot of people here at the club now who can speak Spanish so that should help you settle in and get used to your new surroundings...

2、向后交叉补位。当自己抢断失败，自由中卫上去阻截对手突破时，其应迅速为自由中卫进行补位。

3、后场抢得球后，可以将球传给队友来发动进攻，或者自己带球直接投入一线进攻。

4、必要时可前移至中场接应同伴传球，组织进攻，加强中场进攻力量。进攻结束必须迅速回位。

Rojo bolsters Man United defence

Despite Lionel Messi incongruously winning the most valuable player award at the World Cup, by far the stand out feature of Argentina's campaign in Brazil was their defence. Rojo was an intergral part of that and played a key role in silencing Arjen Robben and new club teammate Robin van Persie in the semifinal.

During United's dreadful display against Swansea in their opening game of the Premier League season, they were routinely torn asunder by the talents of Wilfred Bony. It is hoped that Rojo will add some steel to what looked a fragile defence.

The 20 million euro price tag seems reasonable but comes with several provisos. Rojo is only 24 and has not won any club honours since he left Argentina five years ago. Indeed, almost two years at Spartak Moscow can only be considered a disappointing failure. His disciplinary record also indicates a lack of caution.

In his 49 games for Sporting, he managed to accumulate 21 yellow cards and four dismissals. While this is a mild concern, Nemanja Vidic was no shrinking violet when it came to the crunching tackle or odd flailing elbow either. Chris Smalling and Jonny Evans can occasionally appear sheepish and having an enforcer at the back will do no harm.

Despite his obvious grit, Rojo's playing style merits closer comparison with Rio Ferdinand. The World Cup finalist is comfortable on the ball and happy to launch attacks from the back. There are indications that he can lapse into showboating, but that may simply have been the folly of a young player. Louis van Gaal will surely coach that out of him.

In addition, United's present issues with injuries could see Rojo in action at the Stadium of Light this weekend. As a left-footer, he will provide on-going competition for Luke Shaw too.
