CPO falls below key RM2,000 level

KUALA LUMPUR: Blue chips fell in the morning session on Friday, weighed down by losses in KL Kepong and Maybank while crude palm oil (CPO) futures fell below the key RM2,000 level.
At 12.30pm, the KL Composite Index was down 1.21 points or 0.12% to 1,017.47. Turnover was million 163 million shares valued at RM394.29mil. There were 144 gainers, 213 losers and 148 counters unchanged.
Asian markets fell on rising concerns that the US economy was heading for a recession. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng Index fell 386.34 points or 2.12% to 17,824.77, Japan’s Nikkei 225 lost 1.38% to 11,001.05 and Singapore’s Straits Times Index 2.23% lower at 2,310.96.
Light crude oil fell 89 US cents to US$93.08 per barrel.
CPO prices tumbled RM144 to RM1,946 per tonne, the lowest since March 2007. Analysts estimated production costs to extract one tonne of CPO would be up to RM1,600 per tonne.(生产成本有那么高吗？ ）
At Bursa Malaysia, KL Kepong fell 45 sen to RM9.15, making it the worst performer. Tradewinds Plantations fell 12 sen to RM1.74, while United Plantations, IOI Corp and Asiatic lost 10 sen each to RM11.20, RM4.19 and RM4.50 respectively.
Maybank fell 35 sen to RM6.55 as investors were still not keen on its acquisition of Bank Internasional Indonesia, despite the lower revised offer.
Among the heavyweights, Tenaga lost 20 sen to RM.60 TM International five sen to RM5.55 but Sime Darby rose five sen to RM6.65.
Astro fell nine sen to RM2.93. It had extended the provision of support and services and also the trademark licence agreement to Indonesia’s PT Direct Vision (PT DV) until Oct 19.
DiGi and BAT rose 50 sen each to RM22.90 and RM42 while Tanjong gained 30 sen to RM13.40 and BCHB added 25 sen to RM7.90.
MISC foreign, UMW and Genting advanced 15 sen each to RM8.30, RM5.95 and RM5.40 respectively. |

回看历史。。。棕油有RM70-大家都杀鸡还神了--RM300是时事的造就-RM700是疯狂的不可理喻。。。在通货膨胀-农药-劳工成本等的高涨下--RM180-RM220已经是目前种植业者理想的乐观--换算回来除了IOI包揽上中下棕油领域外--其他棕油股的股价应该在那里才合理？？

KLK不只是有油棕，也有树胶及出产一些种植产品在国外销售。。。目前的价钱应该蛮低的。。。 |
