没错~ 现在除了 Deron William,爵士球员里能够在关节时刻扮演救世主的就是 Millsap 了!

爵士再次上演大逆转好戏 从落后16分 到加时赛反胜火箭 103-99

Millsap carries Utah to OT win in Houston
By CHRIS DUNCAN
Posted Jan 09 2011 12:27AM
HOUSTON (AP) The Utah Jazz understand how to finish games. It's the starts that need some work.
Paul Millsap scored 12 of his 27 points in overtime and the Jazz rallied from another double-digit deficit in a 103-99 win over the slumping Houston Rockets on Saturday night.
Al Jefferson had 24 points and 13 rebounds and C.J. Miles added 16 points for the Jazz, who have come back to win 12 times this season after trailing by at least 10 points.
"It shows we've got a lot of heart, and we've got a lot of guys who don't want to lose on this team," said Millsap, who scored 11 in the fourth quarter. "But we've got to focus in and get off to better starts if we want to progress through this season."
Deron Williams went 5 for 16 from the field but dished out 15 assists.
The Jazz mustered only 19 points in each of the first two quarters and trailed by 14 at halftime. Utah then held Houston to 13 field goals the rest of the way to close the gap.
"We played a lot harder defensively in the second half," Williams said. "We took a step forward as a team. In the second half, we got after them more and didn't let them get easy baskets."
Luis Scola had 24 points and 10 rebounds and Kevin Martin scored 20 for the Rockets, who have lost five in a row, their longest skid since an 0-5 start.
"Same problems we were having early in the season, we have now," Scola said. "It's frustrating. We deserved to win this game, but we didn't know how to close it out."
Millsap scored only four points through the first three quarters, then led Utah's final push in the fourth. He hit two free throws and scored three baskets inside to tie it 86-all with 1:29 left. He was fouled by Brad Miller on a layup and made the free throw to give the Jazz their first lead.
Millsap hit nine of his last 12 shots after starting 2 for 8.
"They were leaving me open and Deron was getting me the ball," Millsap said. "We all get a feeling like that every now and then, where you feel like you're not going to miss."
Utah led 89-87 when Martin hit a pair of free throws with 27 seconds left to tie it again. Millsap missed an off-balance jumper and Shane Battier rebounded with 2.8 seconds remaining.
The Jazz knocked the ball away from Martin and out of bounds with 0.2 showing on the clock. Kyle Lowry missed a desperation shot as regulation time expired.
Millsap swished three straight jumpers from the free throw line in the extra period to give Utah control. Scola flipped in a hook shot with 34 seconds to go, but Millsap sneaked inside for a layup to put the game away.
"I don't want to be disrespectful to them," Scola said of Utah. "I really, really respect their team. But I believe today's game, it was all on us."
The Rockets went 3 for 25 from 3-point range and shot 38 percent (34 of 90) overall.
At the start, the Jazz sputtered offensively, missing 13 of their first 18 shots. Utah came in averaging 22.9 points in the first quarter, 28th in the NBA.
Scola scored 10 points in the opening quarter and the Rockets went up 27-19.
Utah continued to miss shots in the second quarter, starting 2 for 7 from the field and giving away two turnovers in the first 5 minutes.
Courtney Lee followed Patrick Patterson's miss from the baseline with a one-handed dunk to put the Rockets ahead 35-24. Miller sank a 3-pointer with 4:07 left in the half to stretch the lead to 16.
Utah shot 41 percent (16 of 39) from the field and went 1 for 9 from 3-point range in the first half to trail 52-38 at the break.
Jefferson scored the first five points of the second half while the Rockets came out cold, missing six of their first seven shots.
Jefferson scored 14 points in the third quarter and the Jazz trailed only 67-64 heading to the fourth. Houston went 4 for 20 from the field in the third.
Williams sank his first 3-pointer with 6:47 left to cut Houston's lead to 78-73. Scola scored twice in the next minute to push the lead back to nine, but the Rockets scored only seven points over the final 5 minutes of regulation.

Williams, Miles help Jazz outscore Knicks 131-125
By LYNN DeBRUIN
Posted Jan 13 2011 12:19AM
SALT LAKE CITY (AP) Deron Williams and reserve C.J. Miles scored 24 points apiece, leading seven Utah players in double figures as the Jazz beat the New York Knicks 131-125 on Wednesday night.
The game was a battle of 3-pointers, with the Jazz hitting 10 of 22 and New York making 14 of 29.
Reserve Shawne Williams was 7 of 8 from behind the arc and scored 25 points for the Knicks, who made it close after trailing by as many as 16 before finishing 2-2 on their western trip.
Al Jefferson added 19 points for Utah, Raja Bell had 18, Paul Millsap 17 and Andrei Kirilenko 14.
Utah improved to 26-13. New York dropped to 22-16 and has not won in Salt Lake City since 2005.
Reserve center Mehmet Okur returned to action for Utah after missing the last six games with a lower-back strain and finished with 10 points on 4-of-5 shooting.
Amare Stoudemire scored 10 of New York's first 20 points, but found himself in foul trouble. He picked up No. 2 with 4:30 left in the first quarter and No. 4 just three minutes into the third. He played just 16 minutes through the first three quarters and finished with 22 points.
Bill Walker, who was averaging 3.9 points, had 20 in the first half as the Knicks trailed 65-57. He finished with 23 and helped the Knicks' reserves combine for 49 points.
Utah shot 57 percent from the field (21 of 37) in the first half and 58.4 percent overall (45 of 77).
The Jazz outrebounded New York 36-26 and scored 54 points in the paint.
NOTES: The Knicks played backup point guard Toney Douglas only four minutes because of soreness to his A/C joint. ... Utah's 100 points through three quarters was a season high. ... Okur ended up playing 12 minutes. He hit a 3-pointer that gave Utah a 50-40 lead and had a three-point play that put the Jazz ahead 107-96 in the fourth. "One good thing about this (back) injury, I don't have to think about my leg anymore," said Okur, who missed the first 26 games of the season because of a ruptured Achilles' tendon.

Williams scores 26 to lead Jazz past Cavs 121-99
By LYNN DeBRUIN
Posted Jan 15 2011 1:06AM
SALT LAKE CITY (AP) The Utah Jazz have had bigger wins this season. They've had more lopsided ones, too. But maybe none were more fun than Friday night's 121-99 victory over the hapless Cleveland Cavaliers.
Start with the consecutive behind-the-back passes by Earl Watson and Andrei Kirilenko that led to Ronnie Price's easy layup in Utah's 39-point second quarter.
"It was an awesome play," said Jazz guard Raja Bell, who watched it unfold from the bench. "I said at the time it's going to be No. 1 on SportsCenter's Top 10."
That is, until reserve C.J. Miles followed 40 seconds later with a thunderous dunk off a backcourt steal by Watson.
"Now it will probably be No. 1 and 2," Bell said.
That Miles even made the play was a surprise to Price.
"It's crazy," Price said. "I've been messing with C.J., saying he's just a shooter these days, that he lost all his athleticism. When he did that, I said, 'OK, you got it back."'
Deron Williams led Utah with 26 points on 10-of-15 shooting, including 10 points in the first quarter when the Jazz took a 31-25 lead.
Miles added 20 for the Jazz, who improved to 27-13 with their third straight victory.
The most telling stat might have been Utah's 32 assists.
"That's big for us when we get back to running, getting it out and running, and having fun," Williams said.
It was anything but fun for the Cavaliers (8-31), though they put on a much better performance than their franchise-worst loss Wednesday in Los Angeles to the Lakers.
Even so, the Cavs have lost 12 in a row, 26 of their last 29 and 18 straight on the road.
Antawn Jamison scored 26 for the injury-riddled Cavs, who used only eight players.
"I think as a whole, we've got to do a better job of staying focused for the full 48 minutes," said Cleveland center J.J. Hickson, who had 21 points and 14 rebounds. "We did a good job of that in the second half."
The second quarter was when this one was decided.
With four reserves and Kirilenko starting the period, Utah went on a 14-0 run to take a 49-31 lead. The Jazz led 70-50 at halftime.
"It's hard to play better unless you make every single shot," Miles said. "We did a great job defending, picking up guys full court, getting in guys' passing lanes, rebounding, and we got a run going."
The Jazz shot 59.3 percent in the quarter and made four of five from beyond the arc, led by Miles' 10 points.
The Cavs cut it to 89-83 with 2:13 left in the third on a 3-pointer by Antawn Jamison, who led Cleveland with 26 points (14 in the third quarter). But Miles hit another 3 and Mehmet Okur added a free throw to give Utah a 93-83 lead entering the fourth.
The Jazz scored the first four points of the period to put the game away.
Cavs coach Byron Scott, who called the 55-point loss to the Lakers "embarrassing," said Friday was a game of two halves.
"It's weird because the second half, the way we played, is what we talked about all morning," Scott said. "In the first half, everything that we did was total opposite."
Utah had six players in double figures. Bell, Al Jefferson and Kirilenko scored 15 each, while Paul Millsap added 11 points
The Jazz now head out on a three-game road trip starting in Washington, then New Jersey.
"We're in a good spot," Bell said of Utah's position tied for first with Oklahoma City atop the Northwest Division. "We had some struggles a couple of weeks ago, but we've since rebounded. I think coming back (in overtime) in Houston gave us a nice springboard into these two home games, which were big before the road trip. We're tied for first. I'll take that."
He said the Jazz have to take care of business first at Washington and New Jersey.
"Boston will be a good measuring stick for us even if they aren't healthy because they play pretty well. It will be a good road trip for us," Bell said.
Notes: Utah's 70 first-half points were a season high. ... The Jazz shot 61.7 percent in the first half. ...
