从以前到现在 Deron William 碰到 Chris Paul 都打得不错

Hornets-Jazz notebook

By Andrew Aragon, for NBA.com
Posted Thursday November 25, 2010 12:44AM
THE FACTS: Deron Williams and Al Jefferson each had a double-double as the Utah Jazz beat the New Orleans Hornets 105-87 on Wednesday night.

Williams had 26 points and 11 assists and Jefferson chipped in 23 points and 10 rebounds as the Jazz handed the Hornets their second straight loss. Paul Millsap also scored in double figures with 17 points and he had seven rebounds.

New Orleans was led by Chris Paul, who had 17 points and nine assists.

QUOTABLE: "Hopefully we don't eat too much turkey and stuffing. And we can have the same energy we did this game.
-- Utah's Williams on playing the Los Angeles Lakers on Friday, the day after Thanksgiving

THE STAT: 12-3. Williams and Paul will always be linked because they were picked back-to-back in the 2005 NBA draft. In head-to-head meetings, Williams has dominated. Williams, the third pick in the 2005 draft, with Wednesday's win, now has a 12-3 record against the Paul, the fourth pick.

TURNING POINT: Five was the magic number in Wednesday's game. Any time the Hornets got within five points of the Jazz, Utah turned up the heat. When it was 53-48, the Jazz went on an 8-1 run before halftime. After New Orleans closed to 67-62 in the third quarter, the Jazz held the Hornets scoreless for more than three straight minutes during a 9-0 run. In the fourth quarter, when New Orleans made it 82-77, the Jazz scored six straight to put the game out of reach.

QUOTABLE II: "Obviously, we've got to get a lot tougher. This was one of those games where they just beat us up and we can't have that.
-- Paul on the Hornets not matching Utah's physical play

HOT: Williams always gets up to play the Hornets and had one of his best games of the season. He has had at least 10 assists in 10 of the last 11 games he's played against New Orleans. Paul had a good night as well. He carried the Hornets and had just one turnover.

NOT: It was a rough night for Utah's Andrei Kirilenko, who shot 0-for-6, went scoreless and had just three rebounds and one assist in more than 25 minutes of play.

FANTASY SPOTLIGHT: Jefferson was solid for his fantasy owners. In addition to his 23 points and 10 rebounds, he shot well at 10-for-16. He also had two assists and a blocked shot.

ROOKIE WATCH: It was a slow night for rookies. The Hornets' Quincy Pondexter and Utah's Gordon Hayward and Jeremy Evans played extremely limited minutes. Only Evans scored, and he had two points.

NOTABLE: The Jazz shot 68.4 percent in the first quarter. Francisco Elson had a season-high eight points for Utah. After winning their first eight games, the Hornets have dropped three of their last six. Utah has won 10 of the last 12 games against New Orleans.

UP NEXT: For the Hornets, Friday @ Blazers, Sunday, vs. Spurs, Monday @ Thunder. For the Jazz, Friday vs. Lakers, Sunday @ Clippers, Monday vs. Bucks.

Lakers-Jazz notebook
By Andrew Aragon, for NBA.com
Posted Saturday November 27, 2010 1:00AM
THE FACTS: The Utah Jazz, led by Deron Williams, rallied from a 19-point deficit to defeat the Los Angeles Lakers 102-96 on Friday night.
Williams had 29 points and 12 assists and the Jazz scored the game's final 11 points to hand the Lakers just their third loss of the season. Al Jefferson, acquired to help Utah match-up better against Los Angeles, had 20 points and eight rebounds.
Kobe Bryant had 31 points and was masterful for the Lakers in the fourth quarter. He scored L.A.'s final 14 points.
QUOTABLE: "It looked pretty bleak out there in the early part of the ballgame when they got out to a pretty good lead on us. Again, our second group came in and gave us a tremendous lift. They got the fans behind us. Their energy jumped up a great deal.""
-- Jazz coach Jerry Sloan on his team coming back from being down 19 points and the spark his second unit provided in the second quarter
THE STAT: 42-38. The Jazz beat the Lakers on the boards in Friday's game, holding a slight 42-38 edge. Utah, before Wednesday's win over the Hornets, had been outrebounded in six straight games. Now the Jazz have won the rebound battle in two straight games, and doing it against the Lakers has almost been unheard of in recent matchups with the NBA champs.
TURNING POINT: There was no bigger turning point than the game's final 2:32 when the Jazz outscored the Lakers 11-0. Los Angeles missed its last five shots, while Williams hit a 3-pointer and assisted on baskets by Paul Millsap and Raja Bell to help Utah pull away.
Just as important as the game-clinching rally was Utah's spectacular second quarter. After falling behind by 19 points early on, the Jazz held the Lakers to 19 percent shooting in the second quarter. The Jazz went on an 11-0 run before halftime, and made up the entire 19-point deficit before the break.
QUOTABLE II: "You could take the softest player in the league and put him on the Jazz and he's going to turn into a tough guy. That's just how Sloan teaches them."
--Bryant on Utah's physical play
HOT: Bryant didn't miss a shot in the fourth quarter. He made three 3-pointers, three free throws and a field goal. Williams shot 4-for-5 in the fourth quarter and had five assists.
NOT: Lakers newcomer Steve Blake had a terrible shooting night. He shot 0-for-7, scoring no points. He also fouled Williams on a shot attempt with 4.1 seconds left in the third quarter. Williams then made both free throws, stretching Utah's lead to 75-72 going into the final period. Derek Fisher also struggled, shooting 1-for-7 with four points. For the Jazz, C.J. Miles shot 1-for-7 and had four points.
INSIDE THE ARENA: The Lakers didn't bring any A-list celebrities with them to Utah, but they did have a ton of fans inside EnergySolutions Arena. The presence of the L.A. fans, at least early in the game, at times neutralized what's usually a significant homecourt advantage for Utah. Once the Jazz got rolling, however, their fans were as loud as they are in playoff games.
GOOD MOVE: After being torched by Bryant's 14 straight points in the fourth quarter, Sloan doubled him, forcing some other Laker to beat the Jazz-- and they couldn't. Pau Gasol missed an open look, and Ron Artest missed two shots while the game was still in reach for the Lakers.
BAD MOVE: With the Jazz trailing 96-93, Andrei Kirilenko nearly cost Utah the game with a bad shot. He had a wide-open look at a 3-pointer, and he missed -- badly -- with an airball. The Jazz, however, got an offensive rebound, and following a shot-clock malfunction tied the game with a 3-pointer by Williams.
ROOKIE WATCH: Jazz rookie Gordon Hayward played a little more than four minutes and grabbed a couple rebounds.
NOTABLE: Earl Watson scored a season-high eight points -- with all of them coming in the second quarter. Williams recorded his ninth double-double of the season. The Jazz have won just three of their last 10 games against the Lakers. Gasol had his 13th double-double of the season with 21 points and 11 rebounds. L.A. shot 68.4 percent in the first quarter.

逆转之王!他们砍热火虐湖人 战士能输但绝不趴下!
http://sports.sina.com.cn

Jazz-Clippers notebook

By Dan Arritt, for NBA.com
Posted Sunday November 28, 2010 6:52PM
THE FACTS: All five starters scored in double figures Sunday afternoon and C.J. Miles had 16 points off the bench as the Utah Jazz won their fifth straight game, 109-97, against the Los Angeles Clippers at Staples Center.

QUOTABLE: "We just had to give the ball to someone who was open. You don't have to shoot it every time you get it. You pass the ball and you have a better chance of getting a high-percentage shot."
- Utah coach Jerry Sloan

THE STAT: After scoring 60 points in the first half, the Clippers were held to 14 in the decisive third quarter against a stingy zone defense. They committed seven turnovers during that span, shot 5-for-19 from the field and put the Jazz in the bonus with four minutes remaining.

TURNING POINT: The Clippers took a 10-point lead in the opening minute of the third quarter on a bank shot by Blake Griffin. Los Angeles then got fancy on an ensuing 3-on-1 break when rookie point guard Eric Bledsoe tried an ally-oop pass to Griffin, but the pass was off target and the Jazz followed with a 13-0 run to put them back ahead.

QUOTABLE II: "They were killing us with their offense, getting the kind of shots they wanted. Then we slowed them down a little bit and they missed some shots."
- Sloan

HOT: The Jazz shot 58.6 percent from the floor for the game. Miles was 6-for-7 off the bench, Deron Williams was 8-for-14 with a team-high 26 points and Paul Millsap finished 7-for-11 for 15 points.

NOT: Brian Cook had been steadily gaining minutes off the bench for the Clippers, but his shoot-first style didn't work against the Jazz, as he missed all six field-goal attempts and had the crowd begging for him to come out of the game while he spelled Griffin in the fourth quarter.

FANTASY SPOTLIGHT: Clippers leading scorer Eric Gordon salvaged a decent game after going the first 21 minutes of the second half without a field goal. Gordon, who came in seventh in the league in scoring average (24.5), finished with 21 points and nine assists.

GOOD MOVE: Utah coach Jerry Sloan had Francisco Elson guard Griffin for much of the second half and he managed to slow the high-flying rookie enough to allow the Jazz to pull away. Elson played the entire fourth quarter and finished with seven points, four rebounds and four assists in a season-high 21 minutes.

BAD MOVE: Clippers coach Vinny Del Negro played Griffin the entire third quarter, forcing him to go with Cook in the early stretches of the fourth. The Jazz managed to stretch their lead from five points to 10 while Griffin was out of the game.

ROOKIE WATCH: Griffin continues to be worth the price of admission, as he finished with a game-high 35 points, 14 rebounds and even managed to distribute seven assists. During an 11-0 run at the end of the first half that helped the Clippers to an eight-point lead, he had seven points and two assists.

NOTABLE: The Clippers shot 70.6 percent in the opening quarter, their highest percentage for a quarter this season. Unfortunately, the Jazz shot 63.6 and only trailed, 32-30.

UP NEXT: For the Clippers, Wednesday vs. San Antonio, Friday @ Denver, Sunday at Portland. For the Jazz, Monday vs. Milwaukee, Wednesday vs. Indiana, Friday vs. Dallas.

Bucks-Jazz notebook
By Andrew Aragon, for NBA.com
Posted Tuesday November 30, 2010 12:33AM
THE FACTS: Al Jefferson and Deron Williams had double-doubles as the Utah Jazz routed the Milwaukee Bucks 109-88 on Monday night. It was Utah's sixth straight win.

Jefferson had his seventh double-double of the season with 22 points and 11 rebounds, while Williams had 22 points and 10 assists. Utah's backup guards, Earl Watson and Ronnie Price, also provided the team with a spark and kept the second unit playing well. Watson had 12 points and seven assists. Price had 10 points and three rebounds.

Brandon Jennings scored 27 points to lead the Bucks, who have lost six of their last seven games.

QUOTABLE: "You've seen the Energizer Bunny? (Watson and Price) are our Energizer Bunnies. They come on the floor and give us a spark on offense and defense. They are amazing."
-- Jazz forward Andrei Kirilenko on Utah's second team, led by Watson and Price, providing the team with yet another lift

THE STAT: 48-26. The Bucks, without the injured Andrew Bogut and Drew Gooden, were hammered in the paint by the Jazz. Utah outrebounded Milwaukee 48-26, and collected 16 offensive boards. The Jazz also had a 54-18 advantage in points scored in the paint.

TURNING POINT: At the start of the fourth quarter, the Bucks were within striking distance of the Jazz, trailing 80-73. But Milwaukee failed to score for the first 4:41 of the period, missing its first five shots and committing three turnovers during the span. Utah was able to stretch its lead to 87-73 to put the game away.

QUOTABLE II: "At halftime we only had three guys that had a defensive rebound on the roster. I don't know if I've ever seen that in a game. They took it to us from mid-third quarter on and we had a hard time with it."
--Bucks coach Scott Skiles on his team's inability to rebound, and the Jazz pulling away in the second half

HOT: Kirilenko didn't have a great shooting night (4-for-9), but he contributed in several ways. He looked like the versatile Kirilenko of old, contributing 13 points, eight rebounds, four assists and four blocked shots.

NOT: Milwaukee's offense struggled throughout the game. The Bucks missed eight of their first 10 shots, and shot 34.7 percent in the game. No player had a worse night than Bucks guard John Salmons, who shot 1-for-11 and scored six points. For the Jazz, C.J. Miles shot 2-for-9 and scored six points.

FANTASY SPOTLIGHT: Jennings had a night his owners are accustomed to. He gave them a boost by scoring nearly 10 points more than his average, but shot 8-for-20. He also had four assists, three steals and two rebounds.

GOOD MOVE: Jazz coach Jerry Sloan played Watson more than usual, and Watson earned it. He had a season-high in minutes (27), points (12), field goals made (five) and rebounds (six). He tied his season-highs for assists (seven) and steals (two). The 6-foot-1 Watson also had a blocked shot on the 5-foot-5 Earl Boykins.

ROOKIE WATCH: Larry Sanders started for the injured Bogut at center, and had been playing quite well in recent games. He didn't do much against the Jazz, however, scoring four points and grabbing two rebounds in a little more than 16 minutes of play.

NOTABLE: Bucks guard Corey Maggette dressed but did not play while dealing with ankle soreness and a sickness. ... The Jazz have defeated the Bucks nine straight times in Utah. ... Utah shot 69 percent in the second quarter. ... The Jazz had a season-high 10 blocked shots. ... Milwaukee's Chris Douglas-Roberts and Ersan Ilyasova each had season-highs in scoring. Douglas-Roberts had 19 points and Ilyasova had 18.
