NBA季后赛历史上海没有球队能在0-3落后的情况下反扑成功以4-3胜出的....所以爵士队已经危在旦夕了，只是目前能做的是尽量不要捧个光蛋过offseason...

Fisher comes haunts the Jazz, Lakers on verge of sweep

SALT LAKE CITY (NBA.com exclusive) -- The Utah Jazz's decision to release Derek Fisher three years ago never hurt them quite as badly as it did on Saturday night.

Fisher drained the go-ahead 3-pointer with 28.6 seconds left to lift the Los Angeles Lakers to a 111-110 win over the Utah Jazz, giving them a 3-0 lead in their Western Conference semifinal series. Game 4 is Monday.

Fisher took a pass from Bryant as Utah's defense collapsed on the superstar guard shortly after he executed a pick-and-roll with Pau Gasol. That left Fisher with an open look, and he made his third 3-pointer of the game to give L.A. the lead for good.

"That's what I live for," Fisher said. "It's always good when they go down and we win."

Fisher, who scored 20 points, acknowledged that it might not have been his role to take such an important shot. But it worked out just how the Lakers wanted.

"When we run screen-and-roll with Kobe (Bryant) and Pau (Gasol), it's tough to make a decision," he said. "I mean, the best player in the game is coming off a screen. Pau is in a handful of the best players in the world, setting the screen. So for the rest of us, it's our job to be ready to take an opportunity when it is there."

Fisher took advantage, and his former teammates were not shocked that he knocked the shot down. Fisher was granted his release from the Jazz following the 2007 season so that he could be in a place where medical treatment was more accessible for his infant daughter.

"He's done that his whole career," said Utah forward Carlos Boozer. "He's a playoff player."

Bryant said Fisher's shooting was just one way he impacted the Lakers' victory.

"His ball movement and spacing (were also big factors)," he said. "He knocks down big shot after big shot. That's just something he does."

The Jazz still had chances to win following Fisher's 3, but couldn't convert on them in what was a wildly entertaining game. Rookie Wesley Matthews attempted a 3-pointer with 10.8 seconds remaining and missed. Boozer collected the offensive rebound, but wasn't able to score on a putback.

Bryant, who scored 35 points on 13-for-24 shooting, sank two free throws to put the Lakers up, 111-108. The Lakers fouled Deron Williams on Utah's next possession and he made two foul shots.

After Kyle Korver stole the Lakers' ensuing in-bounds pass, the Jazz drew up a play for Williams during a timeout. He missed a 3-pointer with the clock ticking down, and Matthews missed a tip-in as time expired.

"I thought it was good," Matthews said. "I didn't know how much time was left on the clock, so it was a quick tip. I thought I got enough of the ball to put it in the hole."

The Jazz also looked to have enough of a lead in the first half to win Game 3 and make it a series with the Lakers. They held L.A. to 29.2 percent shooting in the first quarter and built a 13-point lead in the first half.

The Lakers, however, showed why they're the reigning champs by fighting their way back into the game. They cut that 13-point deficit to four before halftime. In the third quarter, Bryant capped an 8-0 run with a 3-pointer, giving the Lakers a 60-59 advantage. It was their first lead since 2-0.

"We had good looks and good opportunities and our shots fell at the right time," Bryant said.

The Lakers' outside shooting was phenomenal after the first quarter. They shot 13-for-29 from 3-point range and got a huge boost from Ron Artest. He made four 3-pointers and scored 20 points.

The Jazz, after getting clobbered inside by the Lakers in Games 1 and 2 of the series, packed their defense in the paint and begged L.A. to beat them from the outside. The Lakers obliged.

"They took away our post game, double-teaming and rotating," said Lakers coach Phil Jackson. "We didn't start out very well, but I thought we gained traction in the second quarter and continued through the rest of the game to play a much better game."

It was also the type of game these Lakers have grown accustomed to winning. It was close for much of the second half, and featured 22 lead changes and eight ties. L.A.'s ability to close it out may have just been a result of the been-there, done-that type of approach the champs seemed to play with down the stretch.

"That was quite a game," Jackson said. "It was fun for fans to watch. It wasn't great for coaches to watch. Unexpected guys (Artest and Fisher) stepped up tonight, guys we know can deliver."

第三场1分饮恨败给卫冕冠军湖人，爵士的士气已经溃散。湖人第四场111-96击败爵士，4-0淘汰爵士，进入西岸决赛。

我必须承认湖人是较强的一队，毫无异议是应该胜出的。爵士本来可以赢至少一场，可惜球运不济。如果Okur 和 Kirilenko第一场就上阵，或许可以拼到6场或7场。但是爵士要打败湖人，还欠缺火候。毕竟，和老练的湖人相比，爵士还年轻，

Matthew 有很大的进步空间，给他多点时间吧~ 爵士的未来新星~

爵士这几年征战，常常受伤病困扰而影响成绩，希望来年大家都身体健康！

Lakers complete sweep over Jazz

SALT LAKE CITY(AP) Kobe Bryant scored 32 points, Pau Gasol added 33 points and 14 rebounds, and the Los Angeles Lakers completed a four-game sweep of the Utah Jazz with a 111-96 victory on Monday night, advancing to the Western Conference finals for the third straight year.

The Lakers quickly ended the Jazz's hopes of extending the series by pulling ahead by 22 in the second quarter. Utah got within five in the third, but couldn't sustain the comeback against the defending NBA champions, who made very few mistakes and didn't give the Jazz many chances to rally.

Los Angeles had just six turnovers and made 29-of-36 foul shots while knocking Utah out of the playoffs for the third straight year. The Lakers are off until hosting the Phoenix Suns next Monday in Game 1 of the West finals.

Deron Williams led Utah with 21 points and nine assists.

Carlos Boozer had 10 points and 14 rebounds, and Kyrylo Fesenko added 12 rebounds for Utah, which was swept for the first time in 21 years.

The Jazz lost the first three games by single digits but never found a way to slow down Bryant, who scored 30 or more in all four games. The Lakers finally got a blowout in the final game and by doing so earned a week of rest.

Shannon Brown scored 12 and Lamar Odom added 10 points for the Lakers.

C.J. Miles scored 15, Wesley Matthews had 12 and Paul Millsap scored 21 off the bench.

Utah fans started leaving early and the small contingent wearing gold Lakers' jerseys chanted ``Sweep! Sweep! Sweep!'' The Jazz hadn't been swept since Golden State knocked them out 3-0 in the first round of the 1989 playoffs.

SALT LAKE CITY (June 24, 2010) – The Utah Jazz selected Gordon Hayward out of Butler University with the ninth pick of the 2010 NBA Draft.
In the 2009-10 season, Hayward, a 6-8, 207-pound forward, was named the Horizon League Player of the Year after leading Butler to its first ever NCAA Final Four and the 2010 National Championship Game. The 20-year-old sophomore posted 12 points and a team-high eight rebounds in that game, a 61-59 loss to Duke. Prior to the Final Four, Hayward posted game-highs of 22 points and nine rebounds in a win over Kansas State in the championship game of the West Regional, hosted at EnergySolutions Arena in Salt Lake City.
Hayward was chosen to the 2010 Final Four All-Tournament Team, selected as the Most Outstanding Player of the West Regional and was named a finalist for the Naismith Trophy. He ranked in the top five in the Horizon League in scoring (15.5 points) and rebounding (8.2 rebounds) and led the league in double-doubles with 12. As a freshman, he was named the Horizon League Newcomer of the Year and named to the Foxsports.com National All-Freshman Team after averaging 13.1 points and 6.5 rebounds a game.
Hayward concluded his two-year collegiate career having played a total of 69 games (all starts), averaging 33.1 minutes, 14.4 points, 7.4 rebounds, 1.8 assists, 1.3 steals, while shooting .470 from the field and .369 from three-point range. He was an engineering major at Butler.
A member of the gold-medal winning U.S. Under-19 World Championship team in the summer of 2009, Hayward capped off his senior season in high school with a buzzer-beating layup to win the Indiana Class 4A state championship. Hayward also played high school tennis, advancing to the Indiana singles quarterfinals his senior year.
The Brownsburg, Ind., native is the first-ever Utah Jazz draft selection from Butler and he became the first player drafted in the NBA from Butler since 1974. Hayward is also the first Butler Bulldog ever taken in the first round of the NBA Draft. Butler’s previous highest-drafted players were Jeff Blue (Boston, 1964) and Oscar Evans (Atlanta, 1974), both chosen in the eight round. Hayward is also the second-highest Horizon League player ever drafted in the NBA. Brian Grant of Xavier was taken by the Sacramento Kings with the eight pick of the 1994 draft.

SALT LAKE CITY (June 24, 2010) – The Utah Jazz selected Jeremy Evans out of Western Kentucky with the 55th pick of the 2010 NBA Draft.

In the 2009-10 season, Evans, a 6-9, 196-pound forward, appeared in 34 games (all starts) for the Hilltoppers, averaging 10.0 points, 6.9 rebounds and 1.8 blocks per game. He led the Sun Belt Conference in field goal percentage (64.9) his senior season and leaves Western Kentucky as the school’s all-time field goal percentage leader at .693. He also finished his four-year WKU career as the school’s all-time leader in blocked shots (224).

The 22-year-old became just the second player in WKU history with 1,000 points, 750 rebounds and 200 blocks and was honored with the Danny Rumph Outstanding Teammate Award. As a sophomore, he was named the Most Valuable Player of the Sun Belt Conference Tournament, following his averages of 13.0 points and 7.3 rebounds per game while shooting 78.9 percent (15-of-19) from the floor.

Evans concluded his four-year collegiate career having played a total of 134 games, averaging 7.9 points, 5.9 rebounds and 1.7 blocks, while shooting .639 from the field and .364 from three-point range. He majored in interdisciplinary studies with a concentration in art at Western Kentucky.

The Crossett, Ark., native is the first-ever Utah Jazz draft selection from Western Kentucky and the 43rd NBA player ever drafted out of WKU. The most recent player taken from WKU was New Jersey’s Courtney Lee, who was drafted by the Orlando Magic with the 22nd overall pick in the 2008 NBA Draft. Evans and Lee are the only WKU players selected in the NBA Draft since 1996.

Off to the Bulls: The Carlos Boozer era is over in Utah

They might not be able to replace the 20-point, 10-rebound production that he regularly delivered on the court at EnergySolutions Arena. Yet they also aren’t about to miss the injuries and controversy that seemed to mark his six years in Utah.

Now the Jazz will begin the process of moving forward without Carlos Boozer as the two-time All-Star power forward reached agreement Wednesday on a five-year, $80 million contract with the Chicago Bulls, according to a league source.

The Jazz were said to have been given a final chance to re-sign Boozer but opted not to try to outbid the Bulls. With so many teams having cleared salary-cap space this summer, the Jazz knew the Boozer bidding could be stratospheric.

“We’ve had conversations with his people for the last couple of days,” Jazz general manager Kevin O’Connor said at summer league in Orlando, Fla. “They put their last offer on the table and we took a look.”

Although the Bulls and Boozer have agreed to contract terms, the Jazz will look to work with Chicago to facilitate a sign-and-trade deal under those terms that could bring the Jazz a trade exception for future use.

Such an exception would enable the Jazz for a year to add a player making up to Boozer’s first-year salary in Chicago (approximately $13.5 million) without having to match salaries in a potential deal.

Jazz coach Jerry Sloan declined to comment about Boozer’s departure in Orlando. Chief executive Greg Miller is away on a family vacation and couldn’t be reached for comment. Boozer couldn’t be reached as well.

The Bulls moved quickly to sign Boozer after losing out on free agents Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh earlier Wednesday. The two share the same agent in Henry Thomas, with Wade opting to stay in Miami and Bosh set to join him with the Heat.

DEERFIELD, Ill. (AP) -- A person familiar with the situation says Kyle Korver is following Carlos Boozer from Utah to Chicago after agreeing to sign with the Bulls.



The person spoke Friday on the condition of anonymity because the contract was not finalized and was not sure of the terms. ESPN reported it's a three-year deal for about $15 million.

Korver is a career 41-percent 3-point shooter who hit 59 of 110 last year while averaging 7.2 points. The Bulls were desperately in need of a shooting guard and now they have one.

SALT LAKE CITY — The Portland Trail Blazers have struck again.

A year after trying to snatch Paul Millsap away from the Jazz with a "toxic" contract offer, the Blazers stuck it to Utah on Saturday by enticing starting shooting guard Wesley Matthews into signing an irresistible and surprising offer sheet of approximately $34 million over five years.
"We're happy," said Matthews' agent, Lance Young. "We have a smile on our face."
Here's the part that'll make the Jazz do anything but grin: Portland front-loaded the contract with a $9.1 million first-year jackpot for the restricted free agent in an effort to make it too pricey for Utah to match.
That's similar to what the Blazers did with Millsap's $32 million deal last summer. That one included a $10.3 million first-year payment.
The Jazz, who matched Millsap's contract, will have seven days after they receive the paperwork to decide whether or not to match Portland's bid. Until then, they have to decide if the undrafted rookie they discovered last season out of Marquette is worth taking another gamble on."We'll look at it on Monday and see what it is," Jazz general manager Kevin O'Connor said. "We'll evaluate it and think about what's best to do with our mid-level exception money, and whether that's Wes or not."

For the record, the NBA recently set its mid-level exception at $5.765 million, so the Jazz would have to use all of that on Matthews. Should the Jazz match the offer, their payroll would be at about $66 million for only nine players. NBA teams are required to carry at least 13 on the roster, and the luxury-tax level will be $70.307 million for 2010-11.
That gives Jazz management, which paid luxury taxes for the first time this past season, quite the financial decision to make — especially with the hard-to-swallow first-year chunk of change that will be due seven days after Utah makes its decision.
"It's an evaluation process," O'Connor said. "We'll sit down with our coaching staff and ownership and try to make a decision on what's best for us, not only now but also in the future."
Portland, which is still looking for a permanent general manager after Kevin Pritchard was fired last month, told the Matthews camp that the 6-foot-5 shooting guard was its No. 1 free-agent target. Young called the offer "pretty strong," a description neither team is likely to refute.
The agent even said Portland told him, "We may have overpaid, but if we're going to take a run we'll give our best shot."
After meeting with Matthews in Portland on Thursday, Blazers team president Larry Miller spoke highly of the gutsy guard who seemingly would be Brandon Roy's backup.
