Brewer leads Jazz over Timberwolves

MINNEAPOLIS(AP) Beset by injuries since the season tipped off, the Utah Jazz did their best to stay within striking distance in the Western Conference. Now that they're finally healing up, Carlos Boozer and Co. seem poised to make their move. Ronnie Brewer scored 16 of his 20 points in the fourth quarter and Boozer showed signs of his old self in Utah's 120-103 victory over the Minnesota Timberwolves on Wednesday night. In his second game back after missing the previous 44 with a knee injury, Boozer had 12 points on 6-for-10 shooting in 21 minutes. Mehmet Okur scored 25 for the Jazz, who extended their winning streak to a season-long six games. "I feel a lot better, more comfortable,'' Boozer said. "But the biggest thing to me was getting a win. ... The more I'm out there the more loose it gets and the more comfortable I get, just need to chip off the rust a little bit.'' Kevin Love had career highs with 24 points and 15 rebounds and Ryan Gomes added 24 points and eight boards for the Wolves, who have lost seven in a row at home. The Jazz played just their second game all season with Boozer, point guard Deron Williams and Okur in the lineup at the same time. They wrapped up a perfect five-game homestand with a win over Atlanta on Monday night in an impressive stretch that included victories over heavyweights New Orleans, Boston and the Lakers. They have won 10 of their last 12 and started the day just three games behind Denver in the Northwest Division, but the real test comes in March with eight of the first 12 games away from home. "Teams in front of us have been losing so we need to get these games,'' said Williams, who had 13 points and 13 assists.

MILLSAP已经证明他的能力。日后成就不可限量。

BOOZER怎么讲还是ALL STAR...   他的能力经过调整，相信可以恢复到20分10篮板的联盟顶级水平。

Jazz win seventh straight

SALT LAKE CITY (AP)—The Utah Jazz gave owner Larry H. Miller the most fitting send-off possible.
The Jazz beat the Sacramento Kings 102-89 on Saturday, extending Utah’s winning streak to seven straight just hours after Miller’s funeral in the same building.
“It was tough—especially on a game day. It was really emotional, seeing the whole family up there,” said Ronnie Brewer, who scored a career-high 26 points. “But when we stepped on the court it was business.”
All business—just like Miller, the one-time auto parts clerk who built a car dealership empire and was one of the state’s most prominent businessmen. He was laid to rest Saturday after a 90-minute ceremony at EnergySolutions Arena, one of the many legacies he left behind.
Miller, 64, died of complications from diabetes on Feb. 20.
Mehmet Okur also scored 26, Deron Williams added 16 points and 11 assists and Paul Millsap had 12 rebounds for the Jazz, who went 10-1 in February.

Kevin Martin had 19 points to lead the Kings, who haven’t won back-to-back games since November. Rashad McCants had 17 points and Bobby Jackson scored 14 for Sacramento.
The Kings, who beat the Clippers the night before in Sacramento, faded as Utah corrected some mistakes that led to 13 turnovers in the first half. Utah had just four turnovers in the second half and outscored the Kings 23-16 in the final period.
It took the Jazz until midway through the fourth period to finally pull away with an 11-0 run, which Brewer started with a 3-pointer after the Kings had pulled within a point.
“That was the reason we were able to break open the game,” Williams said of Brewer. “He was all over the place. He was very active. He got steals, energized the crowd with his dunks and just finished well tonight.
Brewer finished 10-for-18 from the floor and had seven rebounds, four steals, a block and two assists. He played all of the second half.
“He’s still young, trying to learn how to get better and that’s one of the things we like about him,” Utah coach Jerry Sloan said.

DERON 虽然得分差强人意，但是送出20个助攻。OKUR独取23分。BOOZER还在调整状态 - 10分9篮板。BREWER延续得分势头，取21分。



Jazz beat Warriors for 8th straight win

OAKLAND, Calif.(AP) The Utah Jazz's leading scorer in their eighth straight win didn't play in the fourth quarter. Their point guard counterbalanced his stellar playmaking with awful shooting, and their star power forward didn't do much at all.

Yes, Utah's three-week winning streak might have been in serious jeopardy if the Golden State Warriors had been trying as hard as possible to end it.

Mehmet Okur scored 23 points, Deron Williams had a season-high 20 assists and Utah beat the voluntarily short-handed Warriors 112-104 Sunday night.

Golden State rested leading scorer Stephen Jackson as part of coach Don Nelson's unorthodox plan to give more playing time to his youngsters, and the Jazz capitalized by throttling the Warriors' offense late. Utah hasn't lost since receiving a 20-point thrashing from the Warriors in Oakland three weeks ago, and the Jazz hung on in the rematch with defense.

Ronnie Brewer scored 21 points one night after getting a career-high 26 for the Jazz, who moved within two games of Northwest Division-leading Denver. Their effort produced surprising raves from hard-to-please coach Jerry Sloan, who loved his team's resilience.

"By my standards, it's a good win, but boy, they've got some nice young players they're working with,'' said Sloan, who gave his biggest praise to Golden State rookie Anthony Randolph.

"Randolph was a live wire out there,'' Sloan added. "He had maybe two or three blocks in a row, and it looked like we were going to cave in, but fortunately we stayed in there and kept our composure and ended up winning the ballgame.''

Corey Maggette scored 27 points and Randolph had a career-high 20 for the Warriors, who also are resting Monta Ellis' surgically repaired left ankle for at least two weeks as a precaution. Jamal Crawford, who wasn't allowed to play in Golden State's loss to Charlotte two nights earlier, scored 20 points in the Warriors' fourth loss in five games.

谢谢你的COFFEE...我平时很少注意到爵士队...只是知道这位全星队的球员受伤很久了...

NBA常规赛将继续进行，已经取得七连胜的爵士，客场挑战此两连败的勇士。本场比赛爵士志在夺取八连胜，而勇士也将全力以赴，避免遭遇三连败。此外同属NBA元老级教练的斯隆与老尼尔森的较量，也是本场比赛的一大看点。最终爵士依靠出色的发挥，以及德隆-威廉姆斯送出的20次助攻，客场112-104战胜勇士豪取八连胜。



虽然奥库第四节没有上场，布泽尔也没有做出很大的贡献，但是凭借德隆-威廉姆斯的20次助攻，爵士还是在客场以112比104击败了勇士，取得八连胜。



勇士主帅老尼尔森继续让球员轮流休战，队中的头号得分手史蒂芬-杰克逊缺阵。爵士依靠顽强的防守报了上一次客场惨败给勇士的一箭之仇。

　　爵士目前仅落后西北区老大掘金两个胜场。老帅斯隆对弟子们的表现非常满意：“以我的标准来判断，这是一场大胜。话说回来，他们手里有一群出色的年轻球员。”斯隆给了勇士新秀安东尼-兰多夫最高的评价：“兰多夫非常有活力。他可能在一个回合里连续盖了两三个帽，我们似乎就要投降了，好在最终还是没投降，我们的球员保持了镇定，赢下了这场比赛。”
