feature film

LOS ANGELES - Coming soon to a theater near you (if a judge agrees) ù a
full-length motion picture filled with footage of Michael Jackson's last
rehearsals.
The movie would come all the elements of a major studio release: product
tie-ins, merchandising and even a director's cut and special editions.
But that's only if a Los Angeles probate judge approves the deal by Monday.
The judge has scheduled a hearing for Monday to see if Jackson's mother,
Katherine, has any objections.
A redacted agreement filed on Friday and released on Tuesday details the
film project. The agreement is between concert promoter AEG Live, one of
Jackson's companies, Columbia Pictures and others.
It calls for the creation of a PG-rated movie, not to run more than 150
minutes. |

Michael Jackson's parents are hiring private detectives to investigate their son's death as they are convinced he died as a result of foul play.
Michael Jackson's parents are hiring private detectives to investigate their son's death.
Katherine and Joe Jackson are convinced the pop legend died on June 25 as a result of foul play and are desperate for answers and are also considering wrongful death lawsuits.
The pair are also to examine Michael's contract with AEG - the concert promoters behind his 50-night residency at London's O2 arena - as they don't think he was fit enough or wanted to do all the scheduled shows.
A source said: "Joe has been obsessed with AEG's role from the start and wanted to see the contract. He didn't trust them and told Michael. He is adamant he only agreed or wanted to do 10 shows and was pressured into doing more."
On Monday (03.08.09), a Los Angeles judge ruled Katherine - who has been granted custody of Michael's three children - can see the contract after her request was previously turned down.
The private detectives will examine all the circumstances surrounding Michael's death from a suspected cardiac arrest at his Los Angeles home.
The 'Thriller' singer's personal physician Doctor Conrad Murray - who is being investigated by police on suspicion of manslaughter - was employed by AEG for £90,000-a-month at the 50-year-old star's request.
Another doctor gave Michael a clean bill of health so he could perform the shows, which were due to begin on July 13.
Meanwhile, Joe has told a court he only intends to see Michael's children occasionally now Katherine has guardianship.
In a document signed on July 13, Joe - who had a difficult relationship with Michael, who always insisted he had been beaten by his father as a child - said: "I have had a close family relationship with these grandchildren since their birth. I do visit the family residence from time to time and will continue to do so, however, I will not be involved in raising the children." |

Michael Jackson's medical examination showed he had the ''body of an astronaut'', claim insurers Robertson Taylor, who were insisting on carrying out their own tests before agreeing to cover the singer's 50-date 'This Is It' residency at London's O2 arena.
Michael Jackson's medical examination record has gone missing.
Insurers for the late pop icon's 'This Is It' 50-date London residency were astounded when the report they received from Dr. David Slavit declared the singer to be in perfect health, joking it appeared to have been "based on the body of an astronaut".
Officials at insurers Robertson Taylor were puzzled as to why the ear, nose and throat specialist's report made no mention of the 'Thriller' star's well-publicised health difficulties - including a severely burnt scalp, broken leg and extensive cosmetic surgery - and demanded their own tests be carried out before agreeing to insure his shows for promoters AEG Live.
An AEG spokesperson said: "AEG did not hire a doctor at any time in connection with securing insurance. Dr. David Slavit performed the medical exam which was submitted to the insurers as part of their underwriting.
"AEG has never received a copy of Dr. Slavit's medical exam. A second medical examination was scheduled in the UK when the tour arrived. The policy was issued in a fictitious name."
No-one has actually seen Dr. Slavit's original records of the medical and Robertson Jackson had wanted to do a full examination on July 11, the day after seeing the 'Bad' hitmaker perform a planned full rehearsal at London's O2 arena, where the shows were scheduled to take place.
However, because the star died of a suspected cardiac arrest on June 25 - after the insurance deal had been agreed but before "subject to" details had been verified - the promoters are now in dispute with the insurers over the validity of their agreement. The singer's medical certificate had been issued in the name M. Jones but this is said to be standard practice for celebrities to prevent any embarrassing personal health details leaking out.
It was revealed last week the singer's autopsy results have been delayed indefinitely.
It has been claimed the release has been postponed while police investigate Jackson's death.
A law enforcement source has claimed the delay is not the result of problems with the toxicology report or questions over how the case is being handled.
Court records show police are currently investigating whether Jackson's personal physician Dr. Conrad Murray - who was with the 50-year-old singer when he died of a suspected cardiac arrest last month and gave him CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation) - had contact with other people in the medical field, including Dr. Slavit. |

Since Jackson's "Number Ones" came out more than 18 months ago -- in2003, to be exact -- it is ineligible for the Billboard 200, andinstead leads the Comprehensive Albums chart, which combines catalogand current releases.
It sold 114,000 copies during the week ended August 2, according to Nielsen SoundScan.Its total for the year now adds up to 1,370,000 copies, moving it pastthe "Hannah Montana" movie soundtrack (1,338,000) and Eminem's"Relapse" (1,319,000). Only Taylor Swift's "Fearless" (with 1,499,000) stands in Jackson's way as 2009's top seller.
The King of Pophas now held the best-selling album in the U.S. for five out of thepast six weeks. "Number Ones" stepped aside only when Daughtry's "LeaveThis Town" bowed with 269,000 two weeks ago.
Back on the Billboard 200, Fabolous' "Loso's Way" sold 99,000 copies. The New York rapper charted as high as No. 2 when 2007's "From Nothin' to Somethin'" shifted 159,000 in its first week.
The chart's second-highest debut came from "High School Musical" star Ashley Tisdale, who landed at No. 12 with 25,000 copies of her second album, "Guilty Pleasure." Tisdale's 2007 album, "Headstrong," debuted at No. 4 with 64,000.
Last week's No. 1 -- also from a Disney starlet -- Demi Lovato's "Here We Go Again," tumbled to No. 8 in its second week, selling 39,000 copies.
Daughtry's "Leave This Town" held at No. 2 with 62,000, while bothMaxwell's "BLACKsummers'night" (No. 3 with 55,000) and the "Now 31"compilation (No. 4 with 53,000) also stayed put.
The Black Eyed Peas' "The E.N.D." moved up one spot to No. 5 with 49,000, while Kings of Leon's"Only By the Night" climbed two slots to No. 6 with 47,000. The bandplayed NBC's "Today" show last Friday, likely sparking the gain.

(5-8-2009) Mayor Rudy Clay of Gary, Indiana USA), said today that a team is planning a museum to pay honor to native son, Michael Jackson. The midtown neighborhood where the Jacksons were raised is seeking historical status.
The project was the main topic of a city hall meeting on Monday that went "exceptionally well" according to Mr. Clay. We've got a lot of homework to do," the mayor said. Details remain to be worked out.
Jacquelyn Drago-Hunter, the Community Development Director, is responsible for seeking historical status for the area around the famous 2300 Jackson Street home. A successful application would mean federal money becoming available for maintaining the neighborhood.
A Jackson family museum has long been under consideration in Gary. Officials visited the Jackson home in Encino in 1995 to try and make the museum a reality.
Enthusiasm for the project has increased following Michael's death. Last year, Joseph Jackson visited Gary to promote the museum that was going to be built at a site north of Interstate 80/94 along Grant Street. Now, however, that site is considered too small.
Last week, Clay told the Post-Tribune the site is too small, as the project now includes a hotel.
"It's a go to make it happen," Clay said Friday.

Under terms of the deal, the film must be rated PG, cannot run any longer than 150 minutes and cannot contain any footage that might cast Jackson in a negative light. Columbia is required to screen the film for Jackson's reps by October 2 and is said to want the film in theaters by Halloween.
