Goalkeeper
Stefano Sorrentino (Chievo): He made at least three incredible saves on Francesco Totti, Julio Baptista and John Arne Riise to bring his side closer to Serie A safety. Without him, the Flying Donkeys would have lost in Rome.
Defence
Hugo Campagnaro (Sampdoria): He certainly was among the best on the pitch at the Marassi and gave his all. An extremely late red card is a small blemish on what was an incredible performance. Did not deserve to be on the losing side.
Giulio Migliaccio (Palermo): Due to absences, the midfielder was used as a centerback and his solidarity was crucial as Cagliari were no match for the Rosanero. Chipped in with a goal as well and made no defensive errors.
Paolo Maldini (Milan): He may be about to retire, but he will be going out in the best possible way with performances like this. A class act at the back for the Rossoneri. 宝刀未老，最后一个季节了。
Midfield
Edgar Barreto (Reggina): Active on both sides of the pitch, he was the heart of the Amaranto in their quest against relegation. His stunning goal, which turned out to be the winner, has kept their salvation hopes alive as the season winds down.
Kaka (Milan): In the team for the second week in a row, he finally appears to be back to his best form. The Brazilian makes his side tick offensively. He set up Filippo Inzaghi and scored a well-taken goal himself in Catania.
Sulley Muntari (Inter): He made up for an early miss by putting in a tireless performance in midfield and then scoring a second-half goal to seal the points for the near Scudetto winners.
Juan Vargas (Fiorentina): He is relishing in his midfield role; without as many defensive responsibilities, he is a constant threat down the left for the Viola. This is the form the Peruvian showed last season with Catania.
Attack
Fabrizio Miccoli (Palermo): The pocket-sized striker’s quickness and technique is a joy to watch. Skipped past defenders, and his trickery will have given the Cagliari defenders nightmares. To top it off, he banged in a fantastic free-kick from 30 yards.
Diego Milito (Genoa): The man was certainly ‘El Principe’ of the city on this day, as his hat-trick kept his team right behind Fiorentina in the hunt for the Champions League and won the Derby della Lanterna. A truly influential presence on the pitch.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic (Inter): The ‘Super Swede’ was riled up by jeers from the crowd and took matters into his own hands by lashing an unstoppable shot into the Lazio net and creating a perfect assist for the previously mentioned Muntari.
