Type | Announcement | Subject | OTHERS | Description | Vortex Consolidated Berhad ("Vortex" or "the Company")- Clarification on article entitled "Banking on tech for a turnaround : Firm to create tech-driven platform to trade across different asset classes" which was published by The Star (StarBiz) newspaper on 6 January 2020 | Reference is made to an article entitled “Banking on tech for a turnaround: Firm to create tech-driven platform to trade across different asset classes” from The Star - StarBiz dated today, Monday, 6 January 2020.By the Article, it was reported as follows:-
“Goh also did not deny speculation that Vortex, which now has RM52.83 mil in cash, is in talks to buy one of the last standalone stockbroking firms. Among the remaining ones are PM Securities Sdn. Bhd. and SJ Securities Sdn. Bhd.”
On behalf of the Company, the Board would like to clarify and confirm that to the best of its knowledge and after making due enquiry with the directors seeking their views on the subject matter of the article, the Company is currently in discussions and negotiations to buy a stockbroking firm but has yet to enter into any definitive agreements.
The Board is cognisant of the need for proper dissemination of information to the public and would release announcement on Bursa Malaysia Securities Berhad (“Bursa Securities”) on any material issue on a timely basis as required by the ACE Market Listing Requirements of the Bursa Securities and will make the necessary announcement to Bursa Securities once the Company enters into any definitive agreements of the same.
This announcement is dated 6 January 2020.
