2nd Stimulus Package – Cushioning
fallout of economic slowdown
The Second Stimulus Package’s headline number of
RM60b over two years was on the higher end of
expectations. It included measures to stimulate domestic
demand (acceleration of 9MP construction projects) and
cushion effects of economic slowdown (reducing
unemployment). While there may be an immediate
positive knee-jerk reaction, we believe market will likely
remain concerned over the extent of the economic
slowdown in the medium term. Potential beneficiaries
would be IJM Corp (Buy), SP Setia (FV) and BCHB (FV).
Trimmed GDP growth. The RM60b is spread over two years and
was on the higher end of expectations. The government has
trimmed GDP expectations to -1% to 1% for 2009 (from
3.5%). We expect 1.2% GDP contraction in 2009. The fiscal
deficit is now projected at 7.6%.
Measures to stimulate domestic demand; and cushion fallout of
economic slowdown. However, we do not expect these
measures to result in a quick recovery in growth. For the
construction sector, focus will be on acceleration of 9MP
projects. Success here will depend on effective implementation.
Few new projects were announced including RM2b LCCT. The
property sector saw some positive measures but not likely to
lead in surge in sales. Proton and Perodua car sales should
receive a lift from the auto-scrapping scheme. The windfall tax
levy threshold was increased to RM2,500 and is positive for the
plantation companies.
No corporate tax cuts. While expectations of corporate and
individual tax cuts did not materialize, the government
proposed accelerated capital allowance for expenses on plant
and machinery, and carry back losses.
Potential beneficiaries. IJM Corp (Buy; RM4.60 PT) may be a
potential beneficiary of the RM2b LCCT job. Its property division
together with SP Setia (Fully Valued; RM2.30 PT) and Mah Sing
(Not Rated) should benefit from the property measures. The
capital market enhancements announced should help
rejuvenate fee income activities for investment banks and be
positive for BCHB (Fully Valued; RM5.50 PT).

基本上。。option 和 warrant 是 derivative的一种。。。
你懂什么是derivative？？

Warrant

A derivative security that gives the holder the right to purchase securities (usually equity) from the issuer at a specific price within a certain time frame. Warrants are often included in a new debt issue as a "sweetener" to entice investors.

The main difference between warrants and call options is that warrants are issued and guaranteed by the company, whereas options are exchange instruments and are not issued by the company. Also, the lifetime of a warrant is often measured in years, while the lifetime of a typical option is measured in months.

那天手痒拿了 Bursa derivatives 的说明书, 什么 crude oil future, klse future... 看到眼都花了, 还不知道怎样玩.....
