Utah 98, Milwaukee 87 SALT LAKE CITY, Jan. 14 (AP) -- Utah's defense went from uninspired to impenetrable. The Jazz held Milwaukee to two field goals in the fourth quarter while rallying to beat the Bucks 98-87 Monday night. After shooting 57 percent through the first three quarters, the Bucks were 2-for-18 in the fourth and went the first 7:25 of the period without a field goal. Deron Williams scored 14 of his 33 points in the fourth quarter and had 10 assists for the Jazz in their fourth straight victory. He made 16 of 20 free throws, including eight in the final period. "I was just trying to be aggressive. When the lane opens up that much, you've got to take it,'' Williams said. Carlos Boozer added 21 points and 10 rebounds for the Jazz, who outscored the Bucks 27-15 in the fourth. The Jazz also limited former University of Utah All-American Andrew Bogut to three points in the fourth quarter as the Bucks fizzled. Bogut had 23 points and 10 rebounds in his return to Salt Lake City and former Jazz guard Mo Williams scored 21. "We got the same shots we got throughout the game. We just didn't make them,'' Mo Williams said. The Bucks jarred Deron Williams with several picks that knocked him to the court and some hard fouls when he drove to the basket. Williams left the game briefly in the third quarter, then came back looking angry and determined to not let the Jazz be Milwaukee's sixth road win this season. His teammates caught on quickly and the Bucks could not crack Utah's defense. "Our D creates our offense,'' Boozer said. "We got tipped balls, got the loose balls. If we play D like that, we're mostly successful and we usually win games.'' Utah is on its longest streak since winning five straight in early November.

Denver 120, Utah 109 DENVER (AP) - Linas Kleiza scored a career-high 41 points and Allen Iverson added 28 as the Denver Nuggets beat the Utah Jazz, 120-109, on Thursday night. Carmelo Anthony scored 23 points, and Marcus Camby had 24 rebounds and 11 blocks for the Nuggets, who snapped a two-game losing streak. Deron Williams had 23 points to lead the Jazz, whose four-game winning streak ended. Kleiza had 36 at the end of the third quarter, when the Nuggets held a 98-88 lead. He scored nine in the period, helping Denver grab a lead as large as 13 points. The Nuggets quickly extended the lead in the fourth when J.R. Smith scored four straight points and fed Camby for a give-and-go dunk to make it 106-91 early in the period. The Jazz never got closer than 13 the rest of the way, and Denver led by as many as 21.

Utah 106, L.A. Clippers 88 SALT LAKE CITY, Jan. 18 (AP) -- The Utah Jazz can usually count on winning at home, especially when the Los Angeles Clippers come to town. The Jazz recovered from a humbling loss the night before by blowing out the Clippers 106-88 on Friday night. Utah easily beat the Clippers for the ninth straight time in Salt Lake City, taking a 14-point lead by halftime and never letting it get closer than 10. "We came back and stayed ready and we were focused out there,'' said Carlos Boozer, who had 19 points and 10 rebounds for Utah. The Jazz improved to 17-3 at home, but had a woeful first half of the season on the road. A 120-109 loss at Denver on Thursday dropped Utah to 6-15 on the road. Coach Jerry Sloan was pleased with the turnaround the Jazz made overnight, but perplexed and concerned with the disparity between playing at home and on the road. "Somewhere there has to be a passion to play this game on the road. If it's a job for you, why do it?,'' Sloan said. "I know it's corny, but it's really been kind of disheartening to see us play on the road the way we have.'' Deron Williams scored 15 and Andrei Kirilenko added 13 points and seven assists for Utah. All five Jazz starters scored in double figures and got to rest for the final few minutes of Utah's ninth straight home win over the Clippers.

Utah 109, L.A. Clippers 93 LOS ANGELES, Jan. 21 (AP) -- The Utah Jazz overwhelmed the Los Angeles Clippers at both ends of the court and came away with a rare road victory. Deron Williams had 18 points and 13 assists, and six of his teammates also scored in double figures for the Jazz in Monday's 109-93 win. It was just their second win in their last 13 away from home. "We're obviously a better team when we're balanced like that,'' reserve forward Matt Harpring said. "The last couple of games we've been like that. Hopefully, we can continue to do that because it makes us so much harder to guard when you have six or seven guys that can score.'' Harpring scored 17 points for the Jazz, who got their eighth victory in 10 games after losing 11 of their previous 14. "We ran and pushed the ball up the floor more than we should have instead of just walking it - because we hadn't put a lot of pressure on the defense until today,'' coach Jerry Sloan said. "That's what we have to do on the road. We can't just sit back and wait.'' Harpring shot 7-for-10 in a season-high 27 minutes. It was his first game since team orthopedic specialist Dr. Lyle Mason lifted the ban that limited Harpring's minutes from 16 to 18 per game. The 10-year veteran missed the entire preseason after undergoing surgery on his right knee for the third time in his career. Corey Maggette scored 23 points for Los Angeles and Chris Kaman added 17 points and 10 rebounds. The Clippers, who beat New Jersey 120-107 in overtime Saturday night, haven't won consecutive games since starting the season 4-0. They are 8-25 since then. The Jazz were never seriously threatened in the fourth. After Cuttino Mobley's 3-pointer and rookie Al Thornton's two free throws put Los Angeles within nine with 9:04 to play, the Jazz responded with a 20-6 run that opened up a 107-84 cushion with 2:24 left. "It was definitely a good win, especially with the effort we got and the help we got from the bench,'' Williams said. "It was good to set the tempo early. We were active on defense and got some good steals and deflections.''

Almost everything Boozer put up went through the hoop as he led the Utah Jazz to a 127-113 win over the Sacramento Kings on Friday. "I tried to get layups first,'' said Boozer, who made his first 13 shots and finished with 33 points. "The net seemed huge to me, so when you go out there shooting jump shots you feel comfortable already.'' Boozer finished 15-for-19. He was perfect until the last second of the third quarter and his shooting overshadowed a pretty good night by teammates Andrei Kirilenko and Deron Williams. Kirilenko had 25 points, six rebounds, six assists and four blocks and Williams had 16 points and 14 assists for the Jazz, who won for the seventh time in eight games. "We didn't do anything special. We just shoot in like different kinds of sets,'' said Kirilenko, who was 6-for-8. In addition to Utah's eighth straight win at home, Jazz fans got a bonus when Sacramento's Ron Artest was kicked out with two technical fouls in the fourth quarter. Fans booed Artest most of the night and cheered loudly when he was finally ejected.

Korver scored 17 points, including two late 3-pointers, and the Jazz took advantage of Yao Ming's absence to beat the Houston Rockets 97-89 on Sunday night. Yao, voted the starting center for the Western Conference in next month's All-Star game, sat out with an upper respiratory infection, the first game he's missed this season. The 6-foot-7 Korver came to Utah on Dec. 29 in a trade with Philadelphia for Gordan Giricek. Korver has reached double figures in eight of 12 games since the trade, and his 17 points was his best game yet with his new team. "It took me a couple of games to get the feel for the offense,'' Korver said. "It's different than what I was used to in Philly. Here, I feel like on every play, there is an opportunity for you to get the ball and score. You've just got to be ready.'' Deron Williams had 17 points and 12 assists and Carlos Boozer had 13 points and 10 rebounds, but went 4-for-14 from the field. Korver made up for it, going 6-for-9 with three 3-pointers. "I don't feel like I have to have a perfect game for us to win,'' Korver said. "In Philly, we had to play really good basketball to win. Here, we have a few more weapons.'' Tracy McGrady shook off a dismal first half to score 21, but Houston's offense sputtered all night. The Rockets shot 44 percent from the field and went 9-for-19 from the free throw line. "It was a tough loss,'' McGrady said. "I felt we played well at times, but they just had a little bit too much.''

Utah 97, San Antonio 91 SALT LAKE CITY, Jan. 28 (AP) -- The Utah Jazz were ready to push back this time against the San Antonio Spurs. The Jazz, who were dominated by the Spurs in the Western Conference finals last spring, never trailed Monday night and held off the defending NBA champions 97-91. The game was full of collisions, hard fouls and some verbal exchanges and the Jazz countered everything the Spurs had. Deron Williams had 11 points and 14 assists and Carlos Boozer and Andrei Kirilenko scored 23 points each for Utah, which won its fifth straight and improved to 10-2 in January. The Spurs committed 20 turnovers and were just 13-for-38 from the field in the second half. "I think our team is playing well because that's what happens when you play better defensively,'' Utah coach Jerry Sloan said. "It's a lot of work to play defense.'' Tim Duncan had 26 points and 11 rebounds, but was the only San Antonio starter to score more than five points. Williams smothered Tony Parker and held him to five points and three assists. "They were better,'' said Manu Ginobili, who led the Spurs with 29 points. "We turned the ball over way too much. Twenty times against the Jazz is really hard to overcome.'' The Spurs finished with 11 assists, three fewer than Williams. Boozer had seven assists and Kirilenko added four steals for the Jazz, who played a much rougher game than they did in the one-sided playoff series. "We've been aggressive,'' Kirilenko said. "With teams like San Antonio you need to be aggressive. You can't let them feel free on the floor, because they'll destroy you.''

Utah 100, New York 89 SALT LAKE CITY, Jan. 30 (AP) - Utah's Deron Williams has had a double-double in five straight games and his team has won a season-high six in a row. It's pretty simple to see the correlation. Williams had 22 points and 12 assists to lead the Jazz to a 100-89 victory over the short-handed New York Knicks on Wednesday night. The Jazz led by as much as 17, let the Knicks close within three, then finished them off in the final few minutes. Williams had six points and five assists in the fourth quarter. "We had chances to blow the game open but we didn't,'' Williams said. "We stopped defending and let them get back in the game. It wasn't pretty.'' Williams has had at least 12 assists in his last five games and may have made a late campaign to be selected to the Western Conference All-Star team. "He's real cool on the court. You know, he runs the show well,'' New York's Jamal Crawford said. "He can score, he can shoot, pass, defend. I like his game a lot.'' After a dismal December, the Jazz went 11-2 in January and lead the Northwest Division. Utah has won 10 straight at home for the first time since 1999 and hasn't trailed in its last two games. Crawford scored 26 and Zach Randolph had 23 points for New York. The Knicks kept it close, even after losing starters Eddy Curry and Quentin Richardson early in the first quarter because of flu-like symptoms. The Knicks were coming off a 120-109 loss to the Lakers on Tuesday in Los Angeles. It's a short flight to Utah, but back-to-back games without two starters for much of the second was too much for the Knicks to overcome. "At the end, we just got a little fatigued,'' New York coach Isiah Thomas said. Carlos Boozer scored 17 points and Mehmet Okur finished with 12 points and 11 rebounds for the Jazz. Andrei Kirilenko added 11 points and Ronnie Brewer scored 10 as all five Utah starters scored in double figures. Utah coach Jerry Sloan said the Jazz got too comfortable with a big lead and started taking some bad shots, leaving the Knicks room to rally at the end and keep it close. "Those are the type of games that you are glad you win and are glad they're over,'' Sloan said. David Lee added 14 points and 12 rebounds for New York. But without Curry and Richardson, Utah dominated inside and outscored the Knicks 62-36 in the paint. The Jazz also forced 19 turnovers and scored 29 points off of them.

Utah 96, Washington 87 WASHINGTON, Feb. 1 (AP) -- Mehmet Okur scored 27 points, 19 in the second half, and had 11 rebounds, and the Utah Jazz won their seventh-straight game with a 96-87 win against the Washington Wizards on Friday night. Utah started slow, but pulled away in the fourth quarter to pick up its 11th win in the last 12 games. Deron Williams picked up his sixth-straight double-double for the Jazz with 11 points and 12 assists. Andrei Kirilenko added 16 points for the Jazz. Okur's 27 points was two off his season high and helped make up for an off night by All-Star Carlos Boozer, who scored four points. Antawn Jamison scored 31 points in his first game since being picked to the All-Star team. Utah trailed 21-11 after the first quarter. The Jazz were able to close the gap in the second quarter, but the game stayed even until early in the fourth. Utah opened the quarter with a 3-pointer by Williams, and started to build a lead. When Utah's Matt Harpring converted a three-point play with 7:23 left, the 77-71 lead was the Jazz's largest of the game to that point. The play also started a 9-1 run for the Jazz, who took their first double-digit lead, 81-71, with 5 1/2 minutes left. Playing without one of its All-Stars, Washington was unable to mount a late comeback. Friday was Washington's first game since Jamison and Caron Butler were selected to the All-Star team. Butler, however, missed his third straight game with a hip injury. Jamison showed why he earned the All-Star nod, with his sixth 30-point game of the season, but it wasn't enough for the Wizards. The loss ended a five-game home winning streak for the Wizards.

Utah 110, Memphis 91 MEMPHIS, Tenn., Feb. 2 (AP) -- The change in the Memphis Grizzlies didn't mean a change in results. Carlos Boozer had 19 points and 10 rebounds, and the Utah Jazz extended their winning streak to eight games Saturday night with a 110-91 victory over the new-look Grizzlies. The Grizzlies, playing their first game since the trade of franchise player Pau Gasol, bumbled and fumbled their way throughout, committing 23 turnovers and appearing out of sync. "We had a totally different team than what we're used to playing with, so it will take some time for us to get used to it,'' forward Rudy Gay said. Utah has won 12 of 13 and sits atop the Western Conference's Northwest Division. Six players finished in double figures for the Jazz, who built the lead to 27 in the fourth quarter and were in control the entire game. "We didn't want to overlook them,'' said guard Deron Williams, who had 16 points and 11 assists. "We just wanted to come in, play our basketball, and I thought we did a good job of that.'' Mehmet Okur added 15 points and 13 rebounds. Ronnie Brewer scored 16 points, Kyle Korver had 14 and Matt Harpring 12. Meanwhile, Grizzlies fans got a glimpse of what the rest of the season might be like without Gasol, who was traded to the Los Angeles Lakers on Friday. Memphis was short-handed and struggled with its new identity, losing its third consecutive game.

Jazz 110, Hornets 88 SALT LAKE CITY, Feb. 4 (AP) -- Deron Williams had 29 points and 11 assists, and the Utah Jazz set a team record for 3-pointers in a 110-88 victory Monday night over the New Orleans Hornets that extended their winning streak to nine games. The Jazz went 14-for-22 from 3-point range, getting six from Kyle Korver and three from Williams. Carlos Boozer finished with 19 points and 17 rebounds and Mehmet Okur scored 14 for Utah, which won its 11th straight home game. Williams had his eighth consecutive double-double. The meeting between division leaders was a rout, almost from the start. Williams badly outplayed Hornets guard Chris Paul, selected for the All-Star game last week while Williams was not. Williams got Paul into foul trouble and Paul finished with just six points and six assists. Jannero Pargo led the Hornets with 24 points. Peja Stojakovic and David West scored 12 each and Tyson Chandler had 11 rebounds for New Orleans, which lost its third in a row. The Jazz passed on Paul for Williams with the No. 3 pick in the 2005 draft. Paul went to the Hornets with the next pick and the two point guards have been compared ever since. Williams definitely had the better game Monday. He scored 12 in the third quarter as the Jazz stretched an 11-point lead to as much as 22. Williams was cheered with the chant "All-Star'' from Jazz fans, especially during the third quarter with some impressive plays. On one, he dribbled around Paul at the top of the key, then leaped around the 7-foot-1 Chandler for a dunk to put Utah up 59-41 with 9:34 left in the period. Williams added a 3-pointer about a minute later to push Utah's lead to 64-44 and got Paul to commit his fifth foul with 6:43 left in the period. Korver, who scored 20 points, opened the quarter with four straight 3-pointers during a 15-4 run. He tied the franchise record at 13 with a 3 with 4:36 left in the fourth, then Okur broke it with another with 2:25 remaining. The Jazz starters went to the bench shortly after that and received a standing ovation.

Chris Paul能入选今年的明星赛我个人并不觉得奇怪，毕竟黄蜂队在他的带领下打出队史新高是铁一般的事实。

D-will虽然说年年进步，表现也日趋成熟，但因为很可惜地爵士队曾出现过史上最伟大的助攻王。。。

置于今年黄蜂队的另一位全明星球员，虽然他的表现也非常枪眼。但若要说到入选全明星赛，有“主场优势”的球员还真是幸运啊

也为他自己不入allstar而一吐怨气。。。。

虽然身为爵士球迷，我必须承认黄蜂队和Chris Paul到目前为止的表现优于爵士和Derome William。

不过吊诡的是，derome william每次对到chris paul，都打得比较好；chris paul每次对到derome william，都打得 “麻麻地”。。。

Chris Paul能入选今年的明星赛我个人并不觉得奇怪，毕竟黄蜂队在他的带领下打出队史新高是铁一般的事实。

118-115加时客场险胜金块，10连胜！！！

对我而言，在金块主场的这场胜利实在含金量十足！因为金块是爵士西北区最强竞争者。在金块主场赢得这场艰辛无比的加时赛，保持了在季后赛对阵金块的主场优势。

金块的carmelo anthony原本有机会在正赛锁定胜利，但是最后时刻无人看守的情况下射出的球在篮筐转了一圈跳出来，让比赛进入延长赛。

Korver在加时赛最后时刻先射入2个罚球，抢到防守篮板球，再冷静射入2个罚球，锁定胜局。全场得27分。

Derome William再次有强势发挥，得29分11助攻。Okur15分10篮板和Millsap10分10篮板。

金块的Iverson得34分，Carmelo Anthony得29分。上一场击败爵士的关键人物Kleiza只得9分。

Utah won its 10th straight game Wednesday night, beating the Denver Nuggets in a 118-115 overtime thriller in which Kyle Korver scored 27 points, including four free throws in the final 19 seconds.

DENVER, Feb. 6 (AP) -- It's not so much the swishes as the swagger. Utah won its 10th straight game Wednesday night, beating the Denver Nuggets in a 118-115 overtime thriller in which Kyle Korver scored 27 points, including four free throws in the final 19 seconds. "You win games like this when you are playing well,'' Korver said. "Our confidence was high going into the game.'' And why not? Since Korver joined the Jazz in a trade from Philadelphia on Dec. 29, Utah has won 16 of 18 games to surge past Portland and Denver in the Northwest Division, which they now lead by two games over the Nuggets. Deron Williams led the Jazz with 29 points, including a 3-pointer with 17.8 seconds left in regulation that tied it at 106. The Nuggets worked the ball to Carmelo Anthony, whose open 19-foot jumper rimmed out at the buzzer. "I thought that was good, and I was right up under the basket,'' said Allen Iverson, who led Denver with 34 points. "I don't think he'll get that open for the last shot probably ever again in his career, being as good as he is. Maybe he was too open, but it was a good shot. We'll take it, especially with the ball in his hands at that point in the game.'' Anthony said he liked his look: "Oh, it was wide open. I just missed it. I'll take a million and one of those shots again. I had a chance to win the game. It didn't go in. If I get that look again, I'm going to take the same shot.'' Anthony fouled out with 2:51 left in overtime, finishing with 29 points. Korver's two free throws with 19.3 seconds remaining gave the Jazz a 116-115 lead, and after a timeout, Iverson was short on a jumper from the left corner with 5 seconds left. Korver got the rebound, drew the foul and sank two more free throws. The Nuggets had one last shot at sending the game into double-overtime, but Anthony Carter, 0-for-4 in the extra period, was short on a 3-pointer at the buzzer, ending their eight-game home winning streak. The Jazz haven't lost since dropping a 120-109 game to the Nuggets on Jan. 16. in which Linas Kleiza scored a career-high 41 points. He didn't get to leak out on the break this time and was limited to nine points. The Nuggets failed to move into a tie with the Jazz in the standings.
