The Board of MSM Malaysia Holdings Berhad (“MSM”/”the Company”) wishes to announce that FGV being MSM’s holding company has clarified that the Group is exploring potential collaborations in the palm and sugar industries, both in the upstream and downstream sectors. These potential collaborations include strategic alliances. There are several initiatives that are ongoing and are at various stages of review and implementation.
Since MSM’s Johor refinery came onstream in 2019, its total refining capacity increased to 2.2 million tonnes, enabling the Company to serve both its domestic requirements and seek new opportunities in export markets. As such, FGV and MSM are exploring all avenues to successfully enter regional and international markets.
Discussions are still at a preliminary stage.
FGV and MSM will make the relevant announcements at the appropriate time in the event of material developments on this matter.

（吉隆坡21日讯）大马糖厂（MSM,5202,主板消费产品服务组）由于售价下滑和融资成本增加，截至2019年6月30日止第二季由盈转亏，共面对6733万令吉净亏损，去年同期为取得1433万令吉净利。
上半年亏损7433万8000令吉，前期净利3013万6000令吉。
第二季营额下跌17.28%至4亿7402万2000令吉，上半年营收滑落14.47%至9亿5945万6000令吉。
大马糖厂在文告中表示，第二季营收下滑，是由于整体平均销售价格下跌7%，至于转亏则由于平均售价降低，以及调整伊斯兰期限贷款的条款，带来更高的融资成本以及再融资成本。
展望未来，该公司指出，国内和外围因素充满挑战，以及大马经济成长放缓，将继续展开策略措施以改善财务表现。
早前市场曾传言，FGV控股有意脱售9年前从大马糖王郭鹤年手中买下的大马糖厂持股，至少4家公司对这批股份有兴趣，其中包括大马首富郭鹤年旗下的丰益国际，前第二财政部长拿督斯里佐哈利家族旗下司JAG资本、以及2家印尼和中国公司。在售股之后，FGV控股和买家将可能持有大马糖厂相等的股权。
FGV控股首席执行员拿督哈里斯法兹拉哈斯山过后在一项活动上受询时指出，该公司寻求任何可强化和可为大马糖厂带来附加价值的合作方式，其中不排除脱售部份股权，惟倾向于保留大股东地位。
FGV控股持开放态度看待任何合作机会，只要能够强化大马糖厂和能够带来附加价值，同时也能为股东创造更多价值。
哈里斯表示，FGV控股认为食品和能源业务拥有非常大的发展空间，而糖业是食品业务的其中一环，同时也默认FGV控股在脱售股权的前提是保留大股东地位。
FGV控股目前持有大马糖厂51%股权，后者是大马最大的糖制厂，市场份额高达60%，且以产能计算，全球排在第八位。
