The Helios C4.0 is Polygon's mid spec Shimano Tiagra endurance alloy road bike. Aluminium frames still provide excellent handling and an excellent strength to weight ratio, they can however sometimes be too stiff. This stiffness can transmit through to your body, especially at the front end of the bicycle. This is why carbon forks are added, they reduce the vibration and road chatter that resonates through the bike. The carbon is laid in such a way as to allow some vertical flex whilst maintain lateral stiffness, which is so important for power transfer. In combining the two, you get the best of both worlds, the amazing value of alloy, with the dampening characteristics of the carbon fork.
The drive train is complete Shimano Tiagra, which in its latest iteration is a highly capable shifting system, with lots of trickle down technology from Shimano's more expensive counterparts. The completeness of the drivetrain ensures complete compatability between the components.
