“沒有什麼可以讓從內心發出的光芒黯淡”

Since the dawn of time,

Humanity has always searched…for Light.

We started with fire,

but its raging flames destroyed all in its path.

When we learned to control this inferno,

it protected us from the elements,

gave us warmth,

and let us see what we previously could not see.

自古以來，

人類一直在尋找……光。

我們從火開始，

熊熊的火焰，它所到之處一切皆被摧毀。

當我們學會控制這個火海時，

它保護我們免受元素的傷害，

給我們溫暖，

讓我們看見過去不曾看見的。

With light, came the evolution of civilisation and culture.

It brighten our lives,

sparking the pursuit of knowledge,

Philosophy and passions.

伴隨光而來的是文明和文化的進化。

它照亮了我們的生命，

激發對知識，哲學和激情的追求。

Despite all that we have discovered,

we have yet to stop searching.

Searching for meaning,

for happiness,

searching every mountain,

Forest and cave.

儘管我們發現了這一切，

我們並沒有停下探尋，

探尋意義，幸福，

遍尋每一座山，

森林和洞穴。

For where is the light which shines beyond and frees us?

It is none but the light of Dhamma,

revealed by the Buddha,

with his supreme wisdom and boundless compassion.

對那照耀我們並解放我們的光，在哪裡呢！

不存在其他，而是法的光，

被佛陀所揭示，

以其無上的智慧與無邊際的慈悲。

He illuminated the path to happiness, peace,freedom and being at ease.

Over the centuries, His disciples have carried forth this light.

Just like passing the flame of a torch,

The great Samanas of past and present,

Dedicated their lives to virtue and wisdom.

他照亮了通往幸福、自由和自在的道路。

幾個世紀以來，他的弟子一直在傳播這個光。

就像傳遞火炬的火焰，

過去和現在的偉大沙門眾，

畢生致力於美德和智慧。

Inspiring others with their pratice,

Brightening lives with their teachings,

These luminaries are beacons of light,

Guiding us in the darkness of plight.

They have made it possible,

For all of us to glimpse,

And realise our true human potential

以自己的實踐激勵他人，

用他們的教導照亮生命，

這些傑出的人是燈塔，

在困境的黑暗中指引我們。

他們使之成為可能，

讓我們大家瞥見，

並實現我們真正人類的潛力

On this sangha day observing,

we pay tribute to the community of monks and nuns,

who dedicated their lives to preserving the light of Dhamma.
