Description	NYLEX (MALAYSIA) BERHAD-  INCREASE IN ETHANOL PRODUCTION CAPACITY
The Board of Directors of Nylex (Malaysia) Berhad (“Company”) wishes to announce that its wholly owned subsidiary, Fermpro Sdn Bhd (“Fermpro”) had on 5 September 2020, obtained an approval from Malaysian Investment Development Authority (“MIDA”) for Fermpro to increase its ethanol production capacity by an additional 5 million litres per annum, to a total of 10 million litres per annum. Ethanol is used mainly in the manufacture of sanitizers and disinfectants. To cater for the additional production capacity, Fermpro will construct and invest in a new manufacturing plant. The construction of the new manufacturing plant is estimated to cost up to RM20 million and it is expected to complete in 18 months. The production capacity expansion will be funded by internally generated funds and also bank borrowing, the details of which will be determined in due course. Fermpro is a company incorporated under the laws of Malaysia. The principal activities of Fermpro are manufacturing and marketing of ethanol, carbon dioxide (a by-product in the production of ethanol) and other related chemical products. Fermpro has an existing production capacity of 5 million litres per annum. Upon completion, the new manufacturing plant is expected to contribute positively to the Group’s earnings and net assets per share from financial year 2023 onwards. The highest percentage ratio applicable to the construction of the new manufacturing plant pursuant to Paragraph 10.02(g) of the Main Market Listing Requirements of Bursa Malaysia Securities Berhad is approximately 6.1%. The Board of Directors of Nylex wishes to announce that Nylex’s holding company, Ancom Berhad (“Ancom”) and Ancom Logistic Berhad (“ALB”) (a 45.06% owned subsidiary of Ancom, listed on ACE Market of Bursa Malaysia Securities Berhad) had on 16 July 2020 entered into a Heads of Agreement (“HOA”) with shareholders of S7 Holdings Sdn Bhd, Merrington Assets Limited, MY E.G. Capital Sdn Bhd and Avocat Sdn Bhd. Please refer to the attached announcement made by ALB on the even date for the salient terms of HOA. Reference is made to 1 (v) of the aforementioned announcement where Nylex is involved in the proposed acquisition of Synergy Trans-Link Sdn Bhd (a wholly owned subsidiary of ALB), and its subsidiaries at a valuation to be agreed by Nylex and ALB. The Board has on 15 July 2020 approved in principle on the proposed acquisition subject to the terms and conditions to be determined by Nylex and ALB at later date. The Board will make the necessary announcement in due course in accordance with the provisions of the Listing Requirements of Bursa Malaysia Securities Berhad.
