HOW TO WEAR JEWELLERY TO COMPLIMENT YOUR LOOK FOR INTERVIEW

It is important to choose the correct attire for a job interview. It is to be expected that you have to be presenting a professional look while making sure that you can give a positive first impression with your potential employer. It’s fairly simple to dress professionally, what could go wrong anyway?

Unfortunately, it doesn’t end with such basic rules. Feeling a wee bit nervous now? You also need to consider the type of jewellery and accessories you will be wearing for the job interview. With the right jewellery, it can complement your outfit, thus improving your appearance, giving off the right amount of confidence and aura.

K.I.S.S. (KEEP IT SIMPLE STUPID) PRINCIPLE

Unlike men who are preferably limited to the wedding band and nice watch, women have a little more leeway when it comes to jewellery. However, it is recommended to wear simple and minimalist jewellery pieces chosen especially for professional working fields. Once you get the job, you’ll see the lay of the land and be able to express your own fashion style.

Here is how:

1. ELEGANT AND PETITE EARRINGS

Make sure they are small and conservative. Studs, either gold, silver, pearl or diamond will be fine. Small hoops earrings are good as well. All of these recommended accessories helps frame your face but with subtlety.

Bold statement earrings, with their large dangles and big hoops, will distract your interviewer from what you’re saying. Stick to one pair of earring even if you have multiple piercings in your ear.

Besides wearing a minimalist and clean ring, having your wedding band on is okay as well. If you ever feel like wearing another ring on your other hand, remember not to wear anything big and flashy.

However, do note that although you CAN wear diamonds, you will have to take into consideration the chances where interviewers and recruiters gossiping on your diamonds. You can’t really stop people from gossiping how large that diamond ring is and that you are probably too expensive to hire for them!

And again, keep it simple is the key here. Thin necklace with a single pearl is the classic look that will never go wrong. You can always replace pearl with simple pendant designs, or just having a thin silver chain on will do nicely.

4. ONE AND ONLY BRACELET/BANGLE CUFF

Whereas for bracelet or bangle cuff, keep it to one only. Stacks of these accessories jangling on your wrist may be very fashionable but it will surely distract the job interviewer.

Another common alternative is to put on a nice simple watch, without any embellishment on them. Remember to take care of your nails too!

A quick note for the ladies, make sure to match your jewellery with your attire for interviews! Generally speaking, gold and silver accessories work best.

It doesn’t matter what field it is you’re going into, after getting the job, you’ll have plenty of chance to show how irresistibly elegant you are with nice jewellery on. But during interviews, you would want the full attention to be on you, not on your accessories and have the necessary professional look.
